ZeInvoice — a contraction of “zen” and “invoice” — exists because most free invoice tools aren't really free. They bury your download behind ads, stamp a watermark across your invoice, or make cancellation deliberately hard to find.

We think the document you send to your own clients should look professional from the first invoice, with no strings attached. So the generator is free forever: no signup, no watermark, no ads, no cap on how many documents you make.

The paid plan exists for people who want more than a single PDF — storage, a client list, and a clear view of what's been paid and what's overdue. If you never need that, the free tool stays free, indefinitely.

And when the paid plan launches, cancelling it will take one click, with no retention flow.

How we write our guides

Invoicing rules differ between countries and change over time, so every legal or tax rule our guides state links to the official source it comes from — GOV.UK and HMRC, the IRS, or the relevant state statute — rather than to another blog. Each guide shows the date it was last updated. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
